Nerves
Nerves is one of my first experiments in interactivity. I
wanted
to create an interactive animation that illustrated the signaling
process occurring between nerves. Neurons are stimulated by touching
them with the mouse. A stimulated neuron sends signals to stimulate
other neurons which are connected to it. Newly stimulated neurons in
turn stimulate other neurons to which they are connected. Neurons react
by becoming more or less sensitive to further stimulation causing the
cascading pattern of reactions to change upon further stimulation.
